Meditation is a complementary technique used to relax and calm the mind and body creating a form of relaxation. It is a practice that has existed for thousands of years, its roots travel back to ancient times where it is said that primitive hunters discovered meditation and altered states of consciousness whilst staring into the flames of their open campfires. Meditation is used in countries worldwide, from East to West each practicing a variety of techniques to create harmony and to find enlightenment and the purification of oneself.
Meditation is practiced for the purpose of achieving the ultimate level of purifying the mind. Imagine being completely at peace with oneself, no noise, no worries, no thoughts, just being perfectly still, relaxed, stress-free, and find that inner peace and tranquillity within.
Relaxation of the body and the mind is vitally important in order to promote and maintain a healthy existence to ones well-being, especially in the fast pace materialistic world we live in and if used regularly can help maintain a healthy lifestyle.
When you enter a relaxed state and allow your conscious mind to sleep, experiences are released from your sub-conscious which will help release any past emotions or experiences and negativity which you have mentally buried rather than dealt with. By releasing these emotions you will feel more positive, confident and relaxed.
Meditation creates a sense of serenity and calmness leaving you feeling more refreshed. It increases your sense of awareness, boosts your energy levels, increases your mindfulness and thoughtfulness and helps you to think more positively creating a sense of inner peace. It relaxes and calms your emotions, leaving you feeling less anxious and helps us to reflect on situations around and to act upon them with more clarity and direction.
So many of us push our health to the limit, taking our bodies and health for granted.
Stress builds up in the body which can lead to physical, emotional problems and underlining diseases. Relaxing the mind and body helps with high blood pressure, digestion, heart rate, immune system and releases mental strain.
